An Open MRI
is an MRI that is open on all sides. This differs from the traditional
form of MRI, which requires patients to lie inside an open-ended
cylinder. these newer MRI scanning systems provide a more 'open' and
less enclosed experience for the patient having the scan performed.
Like traditional systems, open MRI uses radio waves and a magnetic
field to procedure two - or three-dimensional images of internal body
structures. An MRI is a painless procedure that can see through bone and
clearly map out soft tissues, producing images that are extremely precise
without exposing patients to radiation or radioactive solutions.
